Back on the market

The five-bedroom, single-family home on the Flat of Beacon Hill that was to be auctioned Wednesday night is back on the market. Its listing price is $5.995 million.
At auction, the minimum asking price was $4.975 million, but among the pre-registered prospective buyers, no one bid.
This home was built in 1869 and underwent a two-year restoration, incorporating smart technology and modern conveniences, such as an elevator with access to all floors. It encompasses 5,700 square feet of living space.

Pending sales increase

Pending sales of condos across the state increased 25 percent in February in a year-to-year comparison, according to a new report from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
Pending sales of single-family homes that were put under agreement in February rose by 16 percent from a year earlier.
“Buyers are looking at the market conditions and evaluating them against the desire to own a home and are increasingly making the decision that now is the time,” said Kevin Sears, president of MAR and a broker/co-owner of Sears Real Estate in Springfield.
