Back on the market

At auction, the minimum asking price was $4.975 million, but among the pre-registered prospective buyers, no one bid.
This home was built in 1869 and underwent a two-year restoration, incorporating smart technology and modern conveniences, such as an elevator with access to all floors. It encompasses 5,700 square feet of living space.
Pending sales increase
— By: Marilyn JacksonPending sales of condos across the state increased 25 percent in February in a year-to-year comparison, according to a new report from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
Pending sales of single-family homes that were put under agreement in February rose by 16 percent from a year earlier.
“Buyers are looking at the market conditions and evaluating them against the desire to own a home and are increasingly making the decision that now is the time,” said Kevin Sears, president of MAR and a broker/co-owner of Sears Real Estate in Springfield.
